One month down

We are rounding the corner of one month. On Tuesday we will have had little red for one month. Wow what a month it has been. Her getting use to us, we getting use to her. The boys getting over the fact that there is a girl in the house.

Also That there is someone else in the house that is 1. a female, 2. likes the color pink more than mom, 3. loves her baby dolls, 4. looks up to bubba more than his own brother.
The boys are adjusting ok. They are doing great for them. Bubba helps me look out for her and hunter at times thinks she is such a bother.

Little red is eating much better. Found out that foster kids have been so neglected that we are guessing that when she was hungry she was offered a drink vs food and that is one of the reason why she wanted to drink all the time . When i offered her food she would not eat much. Now i give her food make her take a few bites then let her have a sip of drink.

We now know that her father does want her. He is out of state. We have been skyping him and his mom about once a week. They are thankful that we are willing to do that for them. they have not seen her in over a year. I just praise god that her family wants her.

Now one month down and about 5 more to go. Our prayer is that she can be reunited with her family by the holidays. That would be awesome for everyone. God is so good.

Until next time.

Going Good!

Past few days has been a whirl wind. As we know we had our first placement on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 at DHS office. We had all these emotions and it happened rather quickly. Its a little girl that is 2 1/2 and has bright red curly hair. For privacy purpose only we are going to call her "little red" . She had no problems going home with us, was very willing. Did not cry much at all. That just told me she has had some many people in her life coming and going. Her emergency foster care worker was great. Even gave us a little bike for her. It was such a blessing.

Little red is awesome, she is even almost potty trained. Praise god for that!! She is very easy and has really no problems as of now. The only little bumps we have had is at bed time. Crazy as it may be, but i know that God put her in our lives. We were praying all along for the "right placement for our family" and I know that is what happened. God is so good!!!

Its been 3 days now and its getting easier as each day passes. Have not gotten my camera out but i will soon and post a few pics. Today some one blessed her with a girl power wheels car. It is amazing. pretty much in need of many clothes but i was able to buy some with the voucher i was given by DHS.

B&H have been great with her. They are being such big brothers to her. What a blessing god is to have timed this just perfect. God's timing is always the best timing. In the morning I think i will go yard sale shopping. Wow today has been a busy day, baby sitting, then t-ball in 100 degree heat took the boys to dinner and now i am ready for bed.

Until next time

Ev of Placement

We got the Call, tomorrow will be our first placement. I have all these feeling going threw my mind. What i feel like is a mother that is about to have a baby. My husband is feeling the same way. Hunter is not sure what to think. We tired to make them understand that we won't be keeping her. She is just here for a season.

Brice is been at church camp and that has made me think of him all week. I am a protector and when they are not here my mother instinct is on over drive. I know he is having fun. He is with friends this year that are such a blessing.

This placement is going to be a 2 1/2 year old girl. Not sure I will know what to do with a girl. All i know is boys. They are rough, loud, sweet, they don't get offended easily, and easy going.
No matter what, it is going to be a change in our family. Biggest change that we have had in years, maybe ever.

My Prayer is that god gives us grace and guidance and lots of wisdom. I do know this is going to be a great journey and with God leading the way.

Untill next time.

blogging about being a Foster Family

For the last 6 months my husband and I have been trying to go threw the hoops to become A foster family/parents. This was something that God laid on our hearts about two years ago. We put it off due to the fact that I was back in school and was not ready for that chapter in my life to be open. I thought I knew what was going to be best for me and ignored God. As we all know you can never ignore God. He has a way of getting threw to you. He got threw to me(we) when I probable was the busiest I have been in the last year.

I was back in school part time, had started a cleaning business in the fall, and was doing a lot of volunteering at the boys school, also help coaching the boys soccer teams. Brian also knew it was time, due to the fact God spoke to him at the same time. That is how God rolls. As we all know when you start something like this it takes a long time. Lots of paper work and checking into your back ground and your family history.

While we were waiting we just kept on with our busy schedule. the boys were both in soccer in the spring and I was finishing my semester of school. We knew that Gods timing is better than our own. He knew that things would slow down for me in the summer. We were clueless on how long the process would take. We were prepared for anytime.

It took right at 6 months to complete and As of 6/10/2010 we were approved to become foster parents/family. It is a possibility that as of next week we (might) get a little 2 year old girl placement.

As we go threw this journey and new chapter in our lives I am going to blog about it as much as I can. I know there is going to be a lot of joy and sadness that we might endure while on this journey but that will be the beauty of it.

God is great and as i tell the boys there is nothing we can't handle for the fact we have God on our side!

Until next time.
Have a great weekend all!

Time flys

Wow not sure all the time is going but this month is flying by so quickly. With me being back in school, boys in school and activities at their school, the cleaning business, and now getting us ready to be a foster family, I don't have much time in my hands.

Brian is a big help by doing some of my duties that I use to have to time for. If it were not for him we would not have clean clothes. I spent four hours at the campus on Saturday and Brian did all the house work, all the dirty clothes and put them away. I felt so nice to come home and not have to worry about that.

As of this month we are trying to become a foster family/parents. It will take 6 months due to all the training. But god is so good and so merciful that I know this is going to be great for our family. God is the one that placed it on our hearts to become a foster family. Not sure if hunter understands, but I think he will be okay with it, time will tell.

Grace is what gets me threw my day. What gets you threw yours?

Valentines Day

We have one more day till valentines day. WaaHoo!! I do enjoy this day. Their have been many years that Brian and I were not able to get something for one another, but this year is a different story. I got to go do a little bit of shopping and I love it! Its fun, and i love shopping for the boys. Its pure joy.

The month is flying by. We Took family pictures last month and they turned out great.

here are a few pics.

We will be starting soccer soon, very soon. Its been so cold for so long i do hope it warms up before we start. We have been so buys with me going back to school, the cleaning business, going threw the foster care training, and we will add soccer to the list. I do love being busy. But times i am not sure if i am coming or going.
We just pray for guidance everyday and that the lord give us grace to get everything done that we need to do.
Have a happy valentines day every one.
